In this episode I discuss why I created the Fascia-Informed Woman course and all the great information inside the course. Every woman who is considering starting a new fitness routine should start with this course! Why? The goal in most fitness programs is to build muscle which is incredibly important, but when fascia surrounds every muscle group, individual muscle and even every muscle fiber we must consider the health of the fascia before we get started. We also cover the importance of posture, joint mobility and stability and many other topics that should be considered BEFORE jumping into a new exercise program. Creating a healthy foundation will create more success and help prevent injuries. Find this public-facing course here: Creating a Foundation for Fitness in Women 45+: A fascia informed
I also recorded this episode as a video podcast if you'd rather watch than listen. Find it on our YouTube Channel: https://youtu.be/WKNW98yJgtU

I follow many different types of practitioners and business leaders online. I love to read books by people inside and outside of my field. One of the people I follow online made a post about the Enthusiast Model and it came at time I really needed it. Listen and learn more!

I recently had a conversation with a very critical thinking practitioner who brought up that fascia and myofascial release has so much stigma associated with it. This made her hesitant to learn about it. In this podcast I expand on the conversation we had because I know she's not the only out there thinking this way. Practitioners approach me quite frequently with this concern. I hope to change the stigma around fascia with an evidence-based approach. Learn about the system first, then decided about which techniques you want to learn. That is a Fascia-Informed approach!

Cupping is an ancient art that has been reimagined, rebranded and integrated into many modern traditional and non-traditional practices. I started using cupping a few years ago after receiving it from another practitioner and I find it very helpful. Many of my clients love to have cupping integrated into their treatment sessions. Join me as I review some literature and give you more information about how you might use cupping in your practice! The Fascia-Informed Therapist ™ - Grounded in science. Another conversation with a client that made me think. Stress is something that is pervasive in our culture and often can affect the fascia quite significantly. Many people are still not very open to meditation, yoga, therapy or other less invasive ways of dealing with stress. Many people still believe that stress has nothing to do with the pain they feel and that the mind and the body are not an intricately connected as they are. This client had an experience with muscle relaxers that opened her mind to how much stress actually does affect the body. The Fascia-Informed Therapist ™ - Grounded in science. If you haven't already noticed, fascia has become a buzzword in the beauty industry. Creams, oils, and tools are on the market. Some may be of real help while others may be just capitalizing on the unrealistic beauty expectations places on women of all ages. Don't get me started. If you are a provider who spends repeated sessions with clients, they begin to confide in us and trust us to answer their questions. I had a client ask a question about a product she saw and I'm very glad she asked.
